That's hardly indicative of what he meant,a four second sound bite?
Maybe it goes,"when Tories say we're increasing taxes, damned right we are. We're increasing taxes on people who earn over one million dollars a year by five percent, but we're raising the personal exemption to $20,000 from the current $10,300, to give the average wage earner a break in true Liberal fashion. We ARE the Party of the little guy".
Gee, I'm going to go vote Liberal after that! What a great bunch of Canadians!
Well you can't announce billions of extra spending daily without increasing taxes.
Unless you are talking to people who are really bad at math.
Why pick on the top x% don't we want Paul Martin back here paying taxes? If people like the taxing the rich to oblivion they can always move to Russia or Cuba.

Why do the Liberals use that nasty word anyways? Maybe they could use tithes? In that we want you to give more. Sounds nicer too. (real conservative)
ReplyDeleteGotta admit,I like "tithes". Sounds kinda like it's your DUTY to pay 'em.
ReplyDeleteProbably a holdover from my Church days.
