Sun News Network needs you!

In just a couple of weeks Sun News Network goes live.  I am not sure where they go live because my cable provider Rogers is not even going to give me the opportunity to pay to watch.

I sent them an email (which you can send too but more on that later) and this is the response I got back:

Thank you for your feedback.

At this time, Rogers does not have plans to launch the Sun News Network.

Rogers does its best to package and launch services that offer the best value to its customers.

We do appreciate your interest and suggest you continue visiting Rogers.com for future updates.

Well, there you have it!  No Sun News for Rogers subscribers.   Let's face it, money talks and providers will only bring Sun News to your tv if it's in their best interest and a bigger bottom line is in their best interest.

Will your cable/satellite provider carry Sun News?  If not please go to the Sun News site and fill out the form which will automatically be sent to your provider.

Please tell your cable provider you want Sun News.

  2. I have emailed Shaw 4 times (plus the extra form) and have never received a response. I see Bell is carrying Sun TV, which will change to SNN, so I guess I will have to cancel Shaw and go to Bell.

  3. When did you email that? My response from Rogers this morning said they were "in talks".

  4. From Sun News Networks David Akin's Blog
"Update of where you can find us on April 18th:
If you currently receive Sun TV (check local listings), you’ll be able to watch Sun News Network on that channel until August 31. For example, Channel 213 on Bell TV or Channel 15 if you’re on Rogers in Toronto."

  5. Yeah, this post confused me. Channel 66 (basic cable) said that it would come onto that channel.

    I hope so!!!

  6. In Gibsons BC
CoastCable owned by Eastlink also responded last week that there are no plans to offer Sun TV. "Is there any other way CoastCable can help you..."

Friends also say that Cogeco in Belleville has stated they've no plans to offer it.

  7. From Shaw Direct. "We certainly do value customer feedback. We are currently in negotiations to acquire this channel. We have not heard if or when we will be getting it but I assume we are aiming for the launch date of April 18, 2011."

  8. My husband phoned Shaw yesterday, and the local rep (and her supervisor) had no knowledge of the Sun channel. We've done our emailing as well, and I modified the body of the text to express my displeasure at what I see as censorship.

  9. Look at the feedback I just got:

  10. In Gibsons BC - I'm an Eastlink subsriber on the east coast and we can get Sun News Network here, unfortunately it's part of the digital time zone pack. It's definately worth the $4.00 per month though. (Considering that I'm paying at least $3.00 per month for the "free" CBC station)

  13. I agree.
Canada has got to get rid of CBSC and CRTC!! We do not need thought police!
We need more true reporting competition like: http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/opinions

I cannot believe what our constant Government hand-outs have created! We need more independent news shows like Sun TV.
