What a title! And I am sure that is why the Toronto Star decided to give it to the article by Alex Marland that was published today.
A provocative little catch phrase sure to catch the readers attention and it worked because I read it. This is about the noticable presence of Mrs Harper on the campaign trail and nothing to do with the state of passion within the Harper marriage.
It is a very positive commentary on Mrs Harper and undoubtably an bang on analysis of why she is so much more visible than in the past.
I like Mrs Harper and any man who can hold the attention of such a woman must have a few things going for him!!!

It's a far more reasonable article than one would expect from the Toronto Star. I half expected the author to suggest they should be exchanging long protein strands by holding hands.
ReplyDeletePersonally I found the headline to be misleading - it could have just as easily be titled "Why we see more Laureen on the trail". Of course, the existing headline conjures up the sinister narrative until you actually read the article.
ReplyDeleteWhat the T Star hates is an atractive, vivacious, affable, committed, stay-at-home-mom, for now, wife of their political oppenent! Eat your heart out, coalition.
ReplyDeleteLaureen appeals to everyone and is campaigning for her husband and the party - how normal. Many wives campaigned for their husbands through the years.
It is no game here - I did similar things when my husband held high profile role = being a helper and supporter.
Fun, but also normal life was enjoyable after.
